The Cavallari Guarienti estate in San Giorgio in Salici, close to Verona and the Lake of Garda.

Originally an abbey of the 15th Century with lot of land possessions through various family successions became the household of Guarienti family. The present landlord is Federico Cavallari Guarienti.

The landlord reorganized the farm and today it consists of 12 sheds for turkey breeding with an output of about 100.000 turkeys per year.

The farm is new technologies oriented and by the late 70’s was one of the first using solely energy originated from biomasses.

The other main business is wine production. The estate of about 123 acres comprises Bardolino d.o.c., Bianco di Custoza d.o.c., Chardonnay d.o.c. and Cabernet d.o.c.. The production is subject to a constant improvement based on the most recent techniques.

During the last ten years the estate has been enriched with an “Agriturismo” based on three restored ancient buildings with courtyard surrounded by the vineyards and named The Corte del Turco (www.anticadimoradelturco.it). It is  a well known resort for venetian country and lake lovers coming from all over the world.

Recently the resort has been embellished with a restored ancient olive grove. The presence of olive groves dates from ancient Roman times due to the mild winter climate of the lake.
